Windows Mobile 7: Silverlight Applications, IE Mobile 7, and More!
If you’re wondering why I keep resorting to LinkedIn profiles, it’s due to the fact that great information can be found… but there are two sides to that coin, as I recently addressed, so from this point forward, all of my posts based on LinkedIn profiles will come standard with the caveat that you can’t be too sure about the information posted within them (though a little bit of common sense goes a long way). Oh, and an honorable mention goes out to, “they help provide content when none is coming in from any of my alternate avenues.” 
With that said, my latest scouring through pages and pages of Windows Mobile 7-related profiles has landed us some interesting results! We have references to an RSS application Motorola is developing for WM7, WM7 Silverlight prototypes and applications, Internet Explorer 7 for WM7, and even a glimpse into which web technology Microsoft is looking to launch Windows Mobile 7 on (SharePoint)! Now, since these profiles typically end up either deleted or revised more times than not, I’m just going to take a screen shot of the sections of interest from the profiles. Apologies for the tagging as well. I know it’s not very pleasant to look at but digging through all this data takes time and work. Not to mention, there are some results here that won’t come from a simple search alone. Onward!

Most of the other 65+, I’ve either mentioned previously or they contained vague/generic references to Windows Mobile 7 which served no purpose for reporting. Stay tuned for the next batch!

This proves that qualcomm will still be main SoC supplier or that they try to improve what they have to offer and that WM7 will be worth waiting for.
this is cool stuff! i love your winmo7 coverage. i remember reading something about winmo8 being the winmo to look out for with ui changes and all that stuff but that was a long time ago. i sure hope microsoft gets it right with this one.. something tells me they will. but what about winmo8? think it will be wince based or?
Wow they really have been workin on this longer than I thought. I was thinking WM7 might just be some pretty graphics and ui thrown on top of whats already available. Seems to me that this one is coming from the ground up.
Probably WM7 will be what initially WM8 was supposed to be or even more than that.
@Wishmaster89: Absolutely, I believe back in 2006/2007 MS was planning Windows Mobile 7 to be what 6.5 is today. However, many of their plans changed, quite obviously. Windows Mobile 7 is going to be a true, major comeback for Microsoft in the mobile space. WM7 will be the most important OS launch Microsoft will have since Windows 7 was launched.
And i find incredibly foolish when people say “Microsoft should just give up”. They shouldn’t give up because they already have an incredible and astonishing mobile OS under the wraps, hidden from the world. People will just have to wait to completely change their negative opinions on Windows Mobile; and luckily, they wont have to wait too long now.
Hopefully, HTC HD2 can get upgraded to WM7 with all these nice features.
I’ll believe it when I see it. Until then I’m expecting disappointment because that’s what experience has taught me I’ll get…
