Ziggy-

As with all early Windows builds, the early versions look like their predecessors. XP looked like Win2000 up until release time. Even early Vista builds had many XP features in the UI. Since Win 7 is built on Vista, I expect it to look very similar. I don't think MS wants to introduce a new UI, but rather clean this one up.

You can see evidence of this since the sidebar is now gone. Gadgets can act independent of this artificial side zone.

Hopefully we'll see other items changed like this including more consistent UI menus, easier navigation of the start menu, etc...

One thing is certain, what we see here is not what we'll get next year.

Honestly, I don't know why MS is release milestone builds this early. Not much has changed.

ziggy, you have to keep in mind that this is a pre-beta build. the real "goodies" are "under the hood" so-to-speak. The last feature to be updated is the interface, which makes plenty of sense when you think about it. Whats the purpose of revamping the interface if you're failing to work on the problems its predecessor (Vista) faced!?

I'm just looking forward to testing this build if and when it ever leaks on the Internet lol.
