The Future of Advertising on MSN

(Follow me on Twitter: msftkitchen)

Here is a glimpse at what Microsoft appears to have in mind for advertising on MSN in the future. The technology behind it is undoubtedly Silverlight, and by the looks of this video, I’d say clicking on and watching ad content just might end up being enjoyable! lol. Or annoying, depending on to what extent the ads autoplay to page loads and accidental hover-overs/clicks. Check out the video and see what you think. It weighs in at just over 10 minutes but the visuals are nice and they’re accompanied by some good music most of the time:

Could you repost it somewhere that Flash video actually works? for example YouTube. All I can see is, I presume, a loading animation no matter how long I leave it open.

    Thanks

Wow – that sure does look annoying…

While all this has for sure an appealing look, I am really annoyed by the fact advertisement is nearly everywhere in the web today.

Having access on the information one looks for is just getting harder and harder – just to point out that all the research on interfaces is simply wasted by all the clics needed to get rid of all these advertisments one can found everywhere.

Today, not using a tool like flashblock is just making the “surfing experience” (like they’re all saying), frustrating (I have nothing against flash as a technology!)…

Sick. I would get sick while viewing all this.
Best of all was the iMac in the Saab-Spot.
I don’t like advertisment that much.
